

The Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) is a prestigious competition designed to challenge and identify talented students with an aptitude for mathematics. The AIMO offers a rigorous 4-hour examination that tests problem-solving skills at a level suitable for students in Years 7 to 10. The competition is known for its complex mathematical problems that cover a range of topics, including Diophantine equations, counting techniques, and probability.
The AIMO is one of the challenges used to determine which students are selected to a number of invitation only events, including other mathematics challenges, enrichment classes and training schools. It gives talented students an opportunity to be recognised and to participate in activities which will enhance their enjoyment and knowledge of mathematics.It’s a very challenging challenge for middle school students. Usually level C and D awarded students in AMC would attend this challenge.
